MIAMI, FL.- The Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD/Funglode Florida) has announced its highly anticipated “XXII Annual GFDD Florida Golf Tournament,” which will take place on April 14 at the exclusive Miami Shores Country Club golf course in the city of Miami.

The tournament will be a unique experience that combines sports, philanthropy, and high-level networking, with the notable participation of former Dominican Republic president and president of Funglode/GFDD, Dr. Leonel Fernández; former Major League Baseball player Albert Pujols; and sports legend and the first Dominican to be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame, Juan Marichal.

Additionally, the event will bring together prominent figures from the philanthropic, business, and sports sectors, who year after year support GFDD initiatives aimed at promoting social, economic, cultural, and democratic progress in the Dominican Republic and across the Western Hemisphere.

The funds raised during the tournament will be used to support the Foundation’s social and educational programs, which include everything from community empowerment projects to initiatives for sustainable development and public policy training. As José J. Záiter, executive director of GFDD-Florida, stated, “this tournament is not only a tradition that unites our community, but also an opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of many people.”

The organization and logistics of the event, led by Ricardo Jacobo, director of the GFDD/Funglode Tournament, and Soulangel Santana, executive deputy director of the foundation, promise a day full of memorable moments in an environment that combines elegance, camaraderie, and social commitment. Attendees will enjoy exclusive activities, such as an opening ceremony with special guests, prizes for the winners, and a closing dinner to thank participants and sponsors for their support.

This tournament has become an annual tradition that not only celebrates the spirit of sports but also fosters unity between Dominican and American communities. The event is supported by major sponsors and strategic allies who share the Foundation’s commitment to generating a positive impact on society. These include companies from the financial, technological, and sports sectors, which have found in this tournament an ideal platform to contribute to social causes while expanding their network of contacts.
