Santo Domingo.– The Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) announced the circulation of issue 106 of Global magazine, volume 20, corresponding to the period October–December 2025, an edition dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the April Revolution of 1965.
The new issue brings together articles by renowned national and international intellectuals and academics addressing historical, political, cultural, and philosophical topics. Among the published texts are The Communist Threat in the April Revolution, by Bernardo Vega; Apartheid and the International Order, by Jaime Forero Núñez; Freedom of Expression, Reform, and Constitutional Jurisprudence, by Namphi Rodríguez; Film Criticism and Cinematic Analysis, by Mexican scholar Lauro Zavala; The April War: My Testimony, by Rafael Chaljub Mejía; State and Market: Tensions in a World in Crisis, by Susana Peñalva; an analysis on trade and deforestation regulation, by Marco Vi Coscione; and an essay on The Myth of Ariadne and Our Labyrinth, by philosophers from the University of the Basque Country, Luis Garagalza and M. Marder.
As usual, the magazine includes the sections The Pleasure of Reading and GFDD News.
In its editorial, Opening Letter, Global pays tribute to the late writer and former Minister of Culture José Rafael Lantigua, who served as its director. Beginning with this edition, the magazine’s direction is assumed by poet and essayist Basilio Belliard.
With more than two decades in circulation, Global has established itself as one of the country’s most prestigious academic and cultural magazines, with sustained international projection. Its trajectory coincides with the commemoration of the 25th anniversary of the creation of GFDD, an institution founded by Dr. Leonel Fernández.
Since its inception, Global has served as a space for the debate of ideas, critical reflection, and the dissemination of knowledge, contributing to the strengthening of democratic culture.
