The Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) expands its international presence with the opening of a headquarters in Madrid.

(Madrid, 11/12/2024). – The Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) will inaugurate its new office in Madrid, Spain, this Friday, reinforcing its commitment to academic, cultural, and intellectual exchange between the Dominican Republic and Europe. This opening highlights Funglode’s trajectory in establishing strategic relationships with international institutions and strengthens its presence in the European continent.

The Madrid office will enhance institutional relations between Dominican and Spanish academic, cultural, and scientific entities. Funglode already maintains a fruitful collaboration with renowned institutions in Spain, such as the Ortega y Gasset-Gregorio Marañón Foundation, with which it has worked on academic training programs and cultural exchange activities. It has also developed joint projects with the Complutense University of Madrid, the Carolina Foundation, RTVE, and Casa de América, focusing on research and dissemination of key topics such as democracy, sustainable development, and Ibero-American culture.

The official inauguration will be attended by Dr. Leonel Fernández, president of Funglode, along with prominent intellectuals and representatives of Spanish academic and cultural institutions.

With this new headquarters, Funglode aims not only to expand its international network but also to strengthen existing ties and foster new cooperation projects for the benefit of human development, education, and research.
